Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: I am next going to make a bobble head, but this giraffe cake was made for a memorial for my friend who passed away. She was retired and volunteered at the Giraffe Sanctuary in Palm Dessert, CA. The cake was 3 feet tall. The armature was fixed to the base thru a block of wood. The armature was double wall pvc. I use a 45 degree elbow at the top and another piece of pvc down the nose. The top 2/3 was rice krispy treats, and the remainder cake. Everything is edible. There is an edible reproduction of a plaque that was mounted in her honor at the sanctuary. Of course the flowers were edible as well. Nobody wanted to cut the cake, so the family donated it to Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach, CA.
