What materials did you use? b/w gingham, and flowered b/w gingham from my stash. Kona in white for the ruffle and waistband.

What are you most proud of? I like how the pockets turned out. In the tutorial, the pockets are added last. I could never get the pocket placement right that way. This time I put the pockets on before I gathered the skirt. I measured equal distances from the center front...but guessed as to how far apart to put them. Sewing the pockets on first worked out great. I am posting a tutorial (my first) on my blog [http://mosews.blogspot.com] on how I made the pockets. I could really use some feedback, so if you get a chance, come on over and leave a comment! TYVM Hope you aren't getting tired of my stash... but I'm into recycling, and part of that is using what I already have! :D

What advice would you give someone starting this project? WARNING: These are addictive!! Especially if you have a special little lady (or two) to make them for! The tutorial is great. The 'pattern' is made up of just strips (rectangles) of fabric! The construction is basic, and simply explained with plenty of pictures! I suggest making one up just the way Dana has done, and then from there go crazy if you want. Her tutorial is really easy to follow, and well-done.

Wonderful Mo! I just love this and thanks for the heads up on the tutorial. I want to make some little girls in my life. This one is especially pretty with all the detail work. I know your granddaughter will be thrilled!

Jean.. you'll love the tutorial, and she (Dana) has a bunch of them! And THIS skirt pattern can "grow" as the little girls grow. Plus she had a snazzy trick or two for gathering that made it easy. If I get it together I'll add how I made the pockets on this one... because I just made it up as I went along.

Thank you Darns! I think your June BOM blocks inspired me to use my embroidery stitches on this one!
