Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
Stretch the Giraffe, from Stacey Trock's Crocheted Softies book

Instructions

I made the neck of my giraffe 5 rows longer than instructed by pattern, as I felt it wasn't long enough. I am happy with the results.

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Toy

For: Other

Style: Whimsical, Cute

Materials

100% acrylic, Hayfield Bonus DK in 2 constrasting colours (lemon and brown). Crochet hook size 3.5 mm.

What was your inspiration?

My youngest sister wanted an amirugumi and I know she loves wild animals, especially lions, but I didn't have patter for a lion, so I felt she'd appreciate the giraffe.

What are you most proud of?

I finished it in 3 afternoons. I felt confident enough to change the pattern slightly to suit my taste (I made a longer neck keeping to the colour changing scheme.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a very easy project to make. Don't be afraid about altering it slightly or using different colours, type of yarn or hook size.

Thank you, Ladymax. She loves it. I posted a picture on FB and I've already sent it to her: all the way to Malaga!
