What was your inspiration?
I had a client order this cake for their children's birthday. They had a German Shepherd as their family pet... apparently, he was getting quite old and they wanted to pay tribute to him.
What are you most proud of?
This was my first request for a breed specific 3-D cake. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out and was particularly afraid to start t he air brushing. It went really well and I was so pleased with the results...
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Give yourself plenty of time! I also had a miniature figurine of a German Shepherd... I didn't replicate it, but the figurine gave me a reference point for scale, dimensions and features.
