This blanket is REALLY easy. All you do is garter stitch--just knit. The ruffles are created by switching needle sizes every 8 or 10 rows. The blue/purple blanket was worsted-weight using US8 and US10. The pink/beige blanket was made on US6 and US8 using DK weight yarn.

Did you use two strands of yarn or one?

Dma, I did not use two strands. The original project called for DK weight, but I used a worsted weight acrylic for the purple/blue blanket. It definitely made a denser blanket than the pink/brown/teal blanket. That one WAS DK weight, and shows the difference between the needle sizes much better.
