Garter Rib Convertible Cowl

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Convertible Cowl Capelet in Garter Rib »

Instructions

This is a very versatile pattern that can be made in a variety of yarns. Depending on the yarn, this can look modern or vintage, dressy or casual.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Casual, Eco-Friendly, Retro / Vintage, Classic, Mod, Romantic, Traditional

Materials

I used a dk (sport weight) yarn in Merino wool to knit this.

What was your inspiration?

It's important to me that everything I make can be worn in many ways. Hours spent knitting should result in versatility and timeless design.

What are you most proud of?

People who have purchased this pattern from me at Etsy have been very happy with the pattern and have made it several times in different yarns.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you can knit and purl you'll have success with this project. There's a tutorial to help you make the buttonholes and one to help you steam block the cowl so you'll get professional looking results. You also might try making this in cotton or bamboo for warm weather wear.
