What materials did you use? This is my hosta garden, there is also some phlox, peonies, allium, lilacs, and hydrangras planted. It is just so pretty this year.

What are you most proud of? Last year my friend and I dug and cut a bunch of stuff out of there. I make my own compost out of my leaves (takes about 3 years) because I always need dirt. We got the rocks from my friends work and we put about 15 buckets (tractor) of dirt in there and then I divided my hostas and put them in there and this year it is just fabulous! Everything is blooming late this year as it is June and the peonies aren't blooming yet, getting close.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be patient, Rome wasn't built in a day. It is a lot of hard work and it is costly if you do not have friends who you can swap plants with. I grow a lot of hostas as I have a large yard and then I divide them and move them all over. I just put a new garden in this year next to this one. I will post that but it looks kind of bare right now.

Very nice garden. The hostas fill in great and add real interest to a garden.
