Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. Hi I used some of the tips from Micah's class in this piece and then took my easel outdoors to block in the composition from the roses in my garden. I mostly paint abstracts, so for me this was something of a different challenge. Lots of layering and colour mixing went into this piece and the finishing was done in my studio. Any tips on improving the work is appreciated as this is the first piece of this type I have done. Cheers.

What are you most proud of? Colour mixing subtleties that are present in this piece.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I stopped painting after I blocked everything in, put the piece away and then came back to it. I think this helps silence the inner critic and gives you more objectivity when you revisit it with fresh eyes. Have fun.

Do you think the petals should be more defined on this piece? What of the use of blue variations in bringing the piece forward...does it work?

Pretty I like the contrast of the foreground against the background and the hues it makes you feel that you in thr garden looking at these particular flowers
