Category: Home & Garden

Type of item: Plant or Flower

For: Garden

Style: Traditional

Materials

hostas and other perennials

What was your inspiration?

It was a very steep hill and difficult to cut the grass, I thought it would be fun to turn it into a large perennial garden. We have a drainage area across the yard which left the grass very soggy so we made a dry creek bed to take care of the problem.

What are you most proud of?

We are proud of the bridge and swing my husband built. The Swing provides and ideal spot for clamatis to climb on.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Developing a perennial garden is a money saver and each year the plants spread and mature making a beautiful garden. Start planting a section at a time using several of the same plants and color tones, this will give you splashes of color.
