Foxglove grown from seed!

Foxglove grown from seed!
Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Category: Home & Garden

Type of item: Plant or Flower

For: Home

Style: Traditional

Materials

packets of seed, plant divisions.

What was your inspiration?

Every beautiful garden I see in magazines. Also my parents were avid gardeners and both my brother and I enjoy growing just about anything! Better Homes and Gardens has been my main source for ideas. The gardens in their magazine are just gorgeous.

What are you most proud of?

The fact that all my plants are thriving in spite of my trial and error method of gardening. Try it and if it doesn't thrive move it! I've lived here 34 years and I pretty much know where there is enough sun and dappled shade, etc.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

No need to spend big bucks at the nursery. If you are patient you will have all the flowers you ever wanted by collecting seed at the end of the season and scattering it, you should only need to buy a flower once. Even some annuals like zinnia can be grown the following year by saving the seed. Good tip: early spring flowering plants that call for full sun may be planted under shade trees because don't forget, there aren't any leaves until later in the season.
