What was your inspiration?

The flora and fauna found in Australia and its surrounding waters
All memories of placed travelled and things and people seen and times had
A lot of the quilting uses crochet cottons I found in my late MIL stash she was a very special lady.

What are you most proud of?

That after starting this in 1997 and then having it packed away because of our moving around the country for a number of years I finally set up a workspace where we are now living and set about finishing what I had started.
Finally finished it New Years Eve Day 2012

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

As any project let your mind wander and the quilt will come together, let it evolve at its own pace and it will be filled with your memories

I don't see too many quilts that I gasp in awe after seeing, but yours in truly spectacular. Glad you were able to finish it. Did you use cotton for the sashing? From the picture it looks like silk. Lovely quilt!
