What was your inspiration?

My daughter's host family in Japan.

What are you most proud of?

I "used what I had". I didn't have my supply list so I only bought 1/2 yard of 2 different, coordinating fabrics. I just "made it work" and as it turned out, I really didn't need the additional fabric. I also made the pockets larger to utilize the most of my fabric and minimize the amount of scraps I had left over. I have made several reversible bags before. I learned several techniques from this class. I really loved the tips for making the pocket. I also LOVED the tip for making the handles! I can't tell you how many handles and small tubes I have used a turner for in the past! These two tricks were well worth the class!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just have fun with it. You don't have to stick to the sizes on the patterns. If this is your first time ever sewing, you probably want to make the bag as listed in the directions, but after that...anything goes! :-)
