What are you most proud of? The ability to use many of the decorative stitches that my sewing machine has and to create beautiful art fabric with it. I plan to turn the piece into a bag. You can make your stupendous stitching project into any useful item.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I was in the market for a new sewing machine, upgrading from a mechanical Janome with just 7 stitches. I signed up for the class first to get ideas on how to use decorative sewing machine stitches since I was planning to get a computerized machine. I looked at many models with 30-60 stitches and ended up buying a Janome DC 5100 with 167 stitches. I got a good idea how what type of stitches I liked and decided to get a machine with more stitches so there were more possibilities. Doing a stitch bible was a good exercise, even if it took a while to finish. I got the Creative Feet Pearls and Piping foot and Sequins and Ribbon foot. I think they were very helpful in my project and fit on my Janome, no problem. I was able to find a great deal on eBay.

Very nice! I think your strategy for finding a new machine to fit your needs was wise. Can't wait to see what you create next!

I had been researching sewing machines since June. It was good that I held off buying a machine until now, otherwise I would have bought a machine with less features than I did. Your class really helped me buy a machine that I will not outgrow for years.
