I was inspired by the pattern, a free pattern on Lion Brand Yarn website.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
On this cap and all hats for chemo patients I use 16" round needles so there is no seam to sew. On the crown when the number of stitches is reduced I divide the sts and add another 16" needle, and finish it off.
