Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Whimsical, Mod, Funky, Cute, Retro / Vintage

Materials

Sock yarn, fingering weight, a variety of variegated colors.

What was your inspiration?

This pattern was inspired by a beautiful piece of fabric I saw on the backing of an old quilt. It was a classic style of flame stitching that I thought would adapt well to a knitting pattern and would also be a great way to use up scraps of sock yarn.

What are you most proud of?

I love the way this pattern works with all kinds of variegated yarns. Even with the yarns I look at and think, "What WAS I thinking when I bought that?" look great in this pattern!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just be sure you are working with similar weight yarns and you will have a lot of fun watching the colors change.

I noticed the Boston Terrier in the background, well a picture of one, and I have two of those wonderful dogs :) Nice scarf pattern too though.

It's beautiful! I love working with sock yarn and have a hard time finding patterns that I like that use it (other than socks). This is definitely going to be added to my collection. Thanks!

Thank you! I love that this project is something most knitters can make out of yarn they already have in their stash!
