Instructions

I simply increased my beginning chain by 10 and then I continued in rows until the length was about 1" smaller than my daughter's head. (Her head measured 22", so I made the hat 21" in length.) Then I sewed it together and crocheted the top according to the directions, but I did not change colors until I was ready to make the stem.

What was your inspiration?

I made several baby ones and my 16 year old daughter fell in love with them, so I came up with larger size ones. The strawberry is for her and her friend wanted a grape one.

What are you most proud of?

How well they turned out.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be afraid to adjust a pattern, you can always tear it out. This pattern is so simple it's not a big deal to have to tear out and re-do.
