What was your inspiration?

My friend Alysa has been bugging me to teach her how to make an apron with ruffles. I finally had time to make a sample to test out my pattern idea. I'm not into cooking too much but I can't seem to take it off. I love it.

When I made the blue/brown one, I added a bib using an idea I saw on Sew4Home. I love the bib - and let's face it, that's the area that gets messy when baking!

What are you most proud of?

Figuring out how to do it - the dimensions and ruffle size. When I get the final pattern written up, I'll have two different lengths. I'm 5'9"- so I think this will be to long for some. But it's an easy fix.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Use a walking foot to make the ruffles. They go on a lot easier with that foot.

I love this, I have been working on ruffles lately, I've made them from recycled tshirts- I really like the use of scrap fabric, Nice job.
