Piece made for a fiber art friendship book, a dear friend of mine got 60 years old. I got inspired by the quote "Your friendship is a special gift, generously given, happily accepted and deeply appreciated". The hand dyed cloth represented the colors of our friendship; deep, intense, clear and accepting. The celtic knot of friendship, the lines from the heart are made of handspun as we are both spinners, empathic and compassioned. Machinestitched and handstitched lines accented our paths in live; so different and full of acceptance and respect for each other. My first piece working with a theme, my first piece for a friend, made with lots of love and deeply appreciated by my friend.

The special meaning of this art work speaks to my belief that art needs to connect with people and yours certainly does. I love your hand couching of the thick yarn you hand spun. Now, I shall have to make friends with some spinners so I can get my hands on that fabulous yarn and try this myself. Thanks for inspiring me!
