Oh, and I made a cat toy for Dexter.

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Crochet Lab: Basic Techniques & Patterns »

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Traditional, Romantic, Classic

What was your inspiration?

I made the shawl for my friend at work who was retiring and I wanted to make a nice simple gift for her. I did not understand the pattern and after I had made it I then learned how to do the stitch properly. But, overall it did turn out well and she loves it!

What are you most proud of?

That it made my friend happy.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you are not sure of a certain stitch, this was double crochet clusters, try to find a video (I use YouTube ALOT) and get a visual for how to do it correctly. Lesson learned for me, but I know now for the next project.

Very pretty. Is this a beginner's project? Did you do it as age inner in this class? Thanks for sharing. ~JDM

Yes, there is. Let me see if I can find it. It is really easy. I'm not sure I did the clusters right, but it turned out and my friend loved it.

I think this one was it: http://www.caron.com/projects/ss/ss_pink_ribbon_shawl.html. I cannot be 100% sure. I thought the pattern said 3DC clusters. I remember specifically because I didn't know how to do them. I don't think I learned until after I finished it, but it still turned out. I will keep searching.
