Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Entrelac Knitting »

Instructions

At least two of us have run out of the yarn used in the cast on row which is also used in the last row. I don't know about the other student but my yarn contained 93 yards and I was short probably 5 or 6 yards. I was fortunate enough to have another ball, but check your yardage or plan something different for the top triangles.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Unisex

Style: Classic, Traditional, Cute, Casual

Materials

Reynold's Harvest Tweed (wool/mohair/acrylic/nylon) and Nashua Handknits Zinnia (cotton/nylon)

What was your inspiration?

This is a thank you gift for a super neighbor who is always RAKing me with flowers.

What are you most proud of?

I made a really big mistake right at the beginning of the 4th tier. I am really happy that Gwen helped me understand the structure of entrelac so much that I didn't have to frog the entire tier, but instead was able to fix the mistake, quite invisibly, when I came to the end of that tier and saw the very obvious and glaring error. I am even pretty pleased with the back side, a big improvement over my previous entrelac pieces.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just dive in. Gwen is a very good instructor. She gave a lot of helpful hints and tips along the way that really make the knitting fun and easy.

I like the blue on blue color combination as well. And I always like the option of combining textures. Nice work!!
