What was your inspiration?
Loved the Crane fabric that my husband found in a local quilt shop and though it would make a great center panel for this quilt.
What are you most proud of?
The color selection really sets off the quilt center. This was the first French Braid I have done. I usually don't quilt and do not feel comfortable picking out colors for these types of quilts. I also used a free-motion technique successfuly in the center panel for the echo quilting around the birds and river stones. I stippled all the green areas using a free motion foot on my Husqvarna Viking Designer Diamond.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Ask the people that work in the Quilt shop for help in color selection if you have any questions about color selection.
