What was your inspiration?

Early on I ran into a problem of storing samples of clothes I made in a neat way as doll clothes hangers I found were rather pricy and I needed many.

I looked for ways to get small hangers and to get them either very cheap or free. I love re-using things that would normally end up in a land field. In the project below I have found solution to my hanger problem and saved some of our land field space as well. Additionally these hangers are child safe. So all you moms on the budget pay attention.

It takes ordinary dry cleaning pant type hanger, the one made of dark color wire with cardboard tube at the base. White all wire hangers will not work. The pant hangers have a nice smooth top hook part that will not cause any scratches to a child if used in play.

What are you most proud of?

This product is safe for children to use.
It is free and it is Earth friendly.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just follow my instructions.

What a great idea! Now I just need to find some dry cleaner pants hangars. Wonder if it could be done with a regular wire hangar and if there is something else that could be used to cover up the two wire ends of the regular hangar.

i do not recommend using regular wire hangers mostly because of the sharp ends and their construction. with these, though you can go a step further and cover them in fabric. sew up a tube of fabric and slip it on while making the hanger smaller. cheers :)
