What are you most proud of? I am very proud that I was able to use these blocks that were --- I'll say "disappointing" rather than "ugly," and come out with a quilt that I am not ashamed to send out into the world. I am very happy that I have a twin-sized quilt out of a throw's worth of blocks without adding any borders, since that is more likely to be useful to someone in an emergency situation.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? There are no ugly children and there are no ugly fabrics or quilt blocks; there are just some that have a harder time fitting in than others. If there's one piece of yellow staring at you in a quilt top, don't take it out; put in more yellow instead. And don't overthink the arrangement of the blocks. I started putting this on the design wall so I could swap things out and make it all perfect, and was starting to panic because I was running out of room. Once I stepped back and looked at it I realized it needed very little if any rearranging. So I'm just going to start sewing and see what happens; I have a hunch it will be just fine.
