Forsythia Lace Knit Scarf

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Delicate Lace Scarf - Easy Knitting »

Instructions

The scarf looks difficult, but the clear pattern makes it really easy to knit. You could cast on more stitches and add extra skeins of yarn to make this into a stole. In white, it would be gorgeous for a bride. In black, you'd have a very sultry and dramatic shawl.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Romantic, Victorian / Steampunk, Retro / Vintage, Formal / Bridal, Traditional, Eco-Friendly, Classic, Holiday

Materials

For this scarf a used a lovely soft DK weight wool from JoJo Yarns.

What was your inspiration?

I love when my forsythia bushes bloom in my back yard. The color and texture are fantastic. I designed this scarf to reflect that wonderful springtime sight.

What are you most proud of?

I'm delighted by all the people who have already made this scarf through my patterns section at Etsy and my listings on Ravelry. A new knitter can be very proud of their work when they use this scarf pattern. No one will know how really easy it is!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Although I designed this as a reflection of the forsythias of spring, I'd advise knitters to pick their favorite color in a lovely wool to make this scarf. I've made it in several colors and I know other knitters will also want to make and own many versions of this scarf.
