What are you most proud of? Quite a lot of the points are nearly perfect... but don't look too close as there are some not so perfect! I had difficulty trying to re-size this pattern as it is set diagonally on point, so I changed it so that the blocks set straight and I am pleased with how it turned out (btw this is my inexperience and not the fault of the pattern) I finally got around to making a design board as I really needed one to help me decide where best to put blocks so that there was a good mix of each fabric colour. Super pleased I have finally labelled a quilt - http://craftygemini.blogspot.co.uk/2010/02/make-your-own-fabric-labels-for-free.html (really easy and fun to make)

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This is a really easy to follow pattern but you need to be careful cutting and trimming the blocks to ensure perfect points. As I wanted to change the size of the quilt I found it difficult to know exactly how many half square triangles I needed, which meant I kept having to cut more which was a little tedious... I ended up with 204 of them! I also found it very useful to string piece as it kept the the blocks together and there was not as much waste of thread (always a bonus).

Oh, desna, this is wonderful for your new granddaughter! Congratulations!! Totally sweet & girly (as it should be!) - and, yea for you for doing the FMQ - it gets better & better!

Thanks Darns, yes it is so girly and it suits little Elise perfectly as she is a wee beauty. I am definitely getting more enjoyment out of fmq but I need to keep practising.

Thanks so much for comment:) I loved working with this fabric and am pleased how the quilt turned out after panicking that I was changing the pattern slightly.

Oh, Desna....that is a real accomplishment. Love the colors. I can see the love in your work. Congrats on the new little one. Hope you will still have time to quilt.

Why thank you Surfside :) I loved making this little quilt and even more special when I tuck little Elise up in it in her cot when I look after her. I still try to make time to quilt... making two sensory quilts for my grandkids at moment and I have started making Quiet Books which are soooo much fun to make. So watch this space I will be posting in the next couple of weeks :)
