Folded Ribbon Ribbing Socks

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Knit Original Toe-Up Socks »

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Classic

What was your inspiration?

I used one of the stitch patterns in the course materials for the Knit Socks from the Toe Up class.

What are you most proud of?

They fit my daughter's foot and she is proud to wear them. I knit them two at a time on a Magic Loop circular needle. The heel is an afterthought heel, which was the first time I've ever tried that. Thanks for the excellent instructions!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be sure of your gauge and use a highlighter strip of plastic or other aid to help keep track of chart rows.

Your socks are beautiful and such a nice color. You have inspired me to take this class. I have been wanting to learn how to do socks on two circular needles...I have a wonderful book on it, but I think I need to see the videos to really get the how to do it. I'm unfamiliar with the magic loop but look forward to learning about that too.

Thanks so much for your comment! I hope you enjoy the class. I think she mostly demos on DPs but does explain about circulars. I have tried socks on 2 circs but find it easier to use one long (40 in.) circular in the "Magic Loop" method. I think this course is really good for showing different ways to do toes and heels, plus figuring out gusset calculations. I f you need more help with circular needle techniques you could try Youtube tutorials. Good luck!
