New foam 3 inch ball, 48 2.5 square fabric pieces. more than 220 pins, some ribbon, sequins, beads and other adornments.
What was your inspiration?
I remember that my aunt used to make something similar during the holidays, so I set out to find the instructions. This wasn't quite what she did, but this was a great item to make and to sell at craft fairs.
What are you most proud of?
Being able to but down my own time for each item to a reasonable sustainable time. I also am excited to have changed the fabric type and the addition of the adornments make the ornaments a one-of-a-kind item.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Just start - - your first few will look awful, but with a half-dozen or so under your belt, you will feel comfortable. Also, the more expensive the fabric (typically) the thicker it is, and in this type of project, thinner fabric is best!
So don't be shy to use "frugal" fabrics that are available in most chain stores, this workls very well.
