FMQ Crazy Practice Piece
FMQ Crazy Doodles
What materials did you use?
Cotton fabric, cotton batting, Isacord thread, polyester bobbin thread.
In all the FMQ classes we are encouraged to practice, so I decided to combine several ideas into one piece. I initially thought of using it as a drawing liner (it's a practice piece anyway, right?), but now I decided I'm not putting this in there, where no one will be able to see it! :)
I did not select a particular Craftsy class, but I'm pretty sure that different ideas from the following classes can be identified in this piece: Machine Quilting, with Wendy Butler Berns Design it, Quilt it: Free-Form Techniques, with Cindy Needham Machine Quilting Negative Space and Free-Motion Quilting Feathers, with Angela Walters, and Free Motion Quilting a Sampler, with Leah Day.
Fabulous. Its inspiring to see how rapidly you have progressed. The way you change scales and elements in this piece is at a very advanced level. You give me hope.
Denise! You're so sweet! Thank you for your encouraging words. I do have to say that the advice is completely true - the more you practice, the easier it gets. Also, doodling has been key to understanding scale; the final result is crazy pictures, but it all seems a bit easier when you come back to the sewing machine.
