What an excellent idea to add a few hand pieced hexagons to a quilt. I always wanted to make a Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt and have started two of them. It is so time consuming that I end up with a stack of flower pieces that get thrown into a basket to be sewing room decor. I will definitely keep this idea in mind and maybe those stray flower pieces will make it into a quilt one day.
