Kite shaped cabochon, 22 ga. coated wire (to wrap stone itself), 14K gold filled headpins (for "tail"), Hematite rondelles, round beads, and hearts, goldtone chain (Stone is a mix of chlorite, epidote and quartz/calcite with strands of copper throughout).
What was your inspiration?
As soon as I received this stone, "kite" shouted out at me.
What are you most proud of?
I re-did the tail, originally it was an extension of the coated wire (rigid) that I bent to mimic movement, but it didn't hang right when worn - so I went for a truly articulated tail with the three headpins. Much better results!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Think about your stones and findings in a new way.
