What was your inspiration?
In reading of the dark days after Pearl Harbor and the long list of defeats that America and he allies received, there was one group of Americans that handed the enemy defeat after defeat. That is the American Volunteer Group or AVG in China. One of the first books I ever read as a child was a book on the Flying Tigers, the name given to the AVG. This is where I learned of the Gen. Chennault and his tireless efforts to stem the Japanese advance into China.
What are you most proud of?
As the years went by I was able to meet four of the fighter aces that flew in the AVG and have them sign this art piece in person.
