Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Traditional

Materials

Cotton fabric, cotton and mono-filament thread

What was your inspiration?

I had collected a favorite fabric and while going through my stash, thought it would make a great sash for a peacock themed quilt. I used the flying geese design without paper piecing to practice my points. I was taking the machine quilting class at the same time and used some of the free motion techniques that I learned in the quilting of the border, sashing, and the "geese".

What are you most proud of?

I'm really pleased with how the free motion quilting turned out. It's given me more confidence to play more with designs.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Remember to have fun!

I really like this. My grandmother made me a flying geese quilt in this same pattern of straight rows but in a thirties print with white, so it is very old fashioned looking. I really like the modern look of yours.

Thank you for your comments. I wanted to try the design, but like you, wasn't too enthused over the traditional colors.
