What is exciting or interesting to you about your photo(s)? I like doing closeup/macro flowers to the point of almost not recognizing what they are. Yet they are still beautiful, sensual, flowing and attractive each in their own way. Sometimes I do take them to the abstract, to me these are about the color and shape. I believe there are infinite possibilities with this type of photography and that keeps me coming back to try them over and over.

Can you tell us about any special equipment or techniques that you used? I am shooting with a Nikon D7000 with macro lenses 85mm, 100mm, and since this class reminded me I never use my extension tubes, I pulled them out as well. I have a light tray I use sometimes and flashlights to backlight or to brighten the shadows. Mostly I work with light from windows. Slow speeds usually so I am on my tripod. Pretty basic stuff.

Love the lily with the drops of purple water. What lens are you using.?

Pam, I was using an 85mm macro lens on the lily. I had the flower in a clear vase and it was sitting on a light tray.
