Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. Used Alizarin Crimson as the pigment, in Strathmore 140 lb watercolor paper. I don't like this paper as much as using a block of Arches. It is a very good idea to always use the best paper, pigment and brushes, it can make a big difference in your painting.I know they are more expensive but it is worth it, especially if you are a beginner.

Nice job -- you got great contrast at the focal point between darkest darks and white. Your background could stand a bit more development of gradations, but this is great, and it has a lovely, fresh feel to it. Double-check your Alizarin Crimson that it's a permanent one. Should be able to see on the tube (you may have to look at the manufacturer's website). Mary

Looking good! Like the intense red in the center, really adds some depth.
