Instructions
The dress pattern I used for the bodice and skirt was New Look 6860. I have my own pattern for the tulip sleeves, but I imagine you can buy one somewhere :).Difficulty:
Category: Sewing
Type of item: Clothing
For: Girls
Style: Mod, Cute, Whimsical, Casual
Materials
Basic sewing supplies, a pattern, material for the dress, contrasting fat quarters for the flower which I cut into strips, sewing machine and serger
What was your inspiration?
Those flowers are just sooooo cute I couldn't help but put them on one of the dresses.
What are you most proud of?
How well the flower turned out. At first when I was sewing on the orange I thought it might not look right.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Definitely join the bodice front and skirt front first thing and sew on the flower. You can put the dress together first and then sew on the flower, but that makes for a lot of fabric to continually move around.
