Quilting: Flower Power
6 kudoz

Flower Power

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Art Quilting 101: Design Basics »

Instructions

I also used the information from the Machine Quilting class I took here.

The larger piece is the true Art Quilt. The smaller one was intended to just be a trial piece but came out so good I decided to finish it as well.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Whimsical

Materials

Mostly cotton scraps and interesting threads,

What was your inspiration?

We were supposed to just use simple shapes. It was fun to see those simple shapes turn into something more complicated.

What are you most proud of?

It came out nicely.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take the course and then just go for it.

Now I've looked at all your projects I have to say you have true talent. Your art (and I'm stingy with that word) succeeds on so many levels. I sincerely hope people outside Craftsy and your family etc see it, because it's too beautiful to hide.

Wonderful choice of fabrics and overall pattern. I love your choice of pink background. I watched the intro of this course but somehow I was not convinced it would do for me. Maybe I should change my mind and go for it. Thank you for posting the picture.

I enjoyed the course and learned a lot. You will get a lot of good, basic information. But you will also learn one of the basic methods of art quilting applique. She teaches a different one in her other art quilting course. It is a very good place to just make a beginning.
