I need more information on painting shadows. Is there a book?

I am not aware of a book on painting quilts but there may be one out there. I have not written a book. If you don't find one in the quilting world, look at painting books.

Really nice composition Susanne. I love your background and how the leaves and stems seem to be moving over it. Your flower is very sweet. If you wanted to make it more dramatic (which you might not want to do) you could add some very light colored highlights that would broaden the range of values in the flower and leaves. I really like your beading in then center.
