Instructions

Cut a piece of fabric approx. 3 1/2 inches square, fold into quarters from corner to corner forming a triangle. Slip stitch the raw edge with a loose gathering stitch. This transforms the triangle into a flower petal. Repeat for 5 or 6 flower petals joining each one to the previous one. Finally attach the last petal to the first one forming a circle of petals. $1.00 flip flops, fabric scraps, thread and buttons.

What was your inspiration?

I had been making the flowers for headbands and barrettes when my 27 yr. old son suggested I attach them to flip flops. What a great idea!

What are you most proud of?

The way I put fabrics together in a whimsical way.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Practice makes perfect when sewing the flowers.

I ment to say pony tail holders. I can sew great. spelling not so good. lol

i also make these. I use a different looking top. I make ribbon flowers and hold them on the shoes with poing tail hilders that go around the button under the strap and back around the button; that way you can change your colors. Good luck and have fun. They are adorable and so much fun.
