What was your inspiration?
My daughter and I were inspired by a flower belt in the spring Persnickety line. She drew a picture of her own version to coordinate with her 4-H skirt.
What are you most proud of?
She designed and sewed this project. I was the photographer and writer.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
You can choose a scrappy version like ours. Or, make it simpler by using strips of one color, rather than piecing. This can be made with a lace flower, cotton flower w/raw edges, or a knit flower with finished or raw edges. Fabric options are endless and will change the look.
