The flocked beads in this piece were rather plain, and they seemed to call out "paint me!" I used paint markers that left the soft, fuzzy surface of the flocking intact. Working freehand, I decorated the oval beads with a curling, filigree pattern. I then painted the round beads to match the filigree color, tying the beads together visually. Once the paint had cured, I strung the beads of satin cording, knotting between each, to create the necklace.
What was your inspiration?
The large flocked beads that were perfect canvases for my paint markers!

That I painted the beads freehand!
