What was your inspiration?

I was inspired by a pattern found in Fons and Porters Love of Quilting magazine. It took me several months to ponder my design. It isn't exactly like the one in the magazine. I've changed things around.

What are you most proud of?

I am quite happy with the summery bright quilt that resulted from my efforts. I finished the applique and piecing last year. It remains on my pile of UFO's waiting to be quilted.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just because you start a project today doesn't mean it has to be finished tomorrow. Variety is the spice of life. I'm now inspired to sandwich this quilt and get started on hand quilting it. Someone I know would love to own this quilt.

I am working on this quilt also. I can't decide what fabric I want use to set it together. I really do like the colors you used on this one.

I need to make my daughter a quilt with flip flops. She wears them all the time, but will be moving to New Hampshire this fall, so she will need to put them away for a few months. This will give her something warm to remind her of her days here in San Diego.
