What was your inspiration?

My friend had bought at her local craft store a watch band which was both a bracelet and a watch band. It had large lobster clasps which one uses to attach an old watch to it. What a brilliant idea! I had numerous old watches in the drawer in need of replacement bands, batteries, or both. A quick trip to the local jeweler, and the watches were up and running, and I was feverishly figuring out how to make my chunky necklace theme work as a bracelet. Here's one of them

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The lobster clasps have to be quite large, and use at least 0.8 mm or thicker flexible cord. Also, measure carefully, this pattern is not very forgiving for errors. Don't hesitate to use connecting spacers for added stability, once this is being worn, it comes under a lot of repetitive tension.
