This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:

I added slits at the side seams and a fleece applique to the front. Meg's pattern is well designed and her instructions are thorough and clear. Can't wait to make the projects.

Me again... great idea to make slits at the side seam. My hoodie was way too roomy on the sides, so I took it in but then the back was too long to sew to the front at the hem. I was dreading having to rip out the entire hem, but thanks to your inspiration, I'm just going to make slits. Yay!!!

I made the applique by cutting a circle (approx 8 inch diameter) and pinning it on the hoodie. Using the "sewing with knits" instructions from Meg, and starting from the center of the applique, I stitched a flower-like swirl pattern. (I sewed this free-hand, kind of like drawing with the sewing machine...but you could probably use chalk to mark you design.) Then I cut away the fleece applique close to the stitching (approx 1/4 inch or less). Easy!

You are one smart, creative lady. Do you mind if I try this when I get to my hoodie?

The hoodie looks awesome! And the applique is a lovely touch -- did you design it yourself??
