Sewing: Fleece Hoodie

Fleece Hoodie

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Sewing With Knits: 5 Wardrobe Essentials »

Instructions

Go for it. This was so fast and easy. I chose to use the clear elastic in the shoulder seams since this was a very stretchy fleece (jump ahead to the t-shirt project to learn how to insert the elastic).

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Casual

Materials

Some obnoxious leopard print fleece that was given to me. It is a good quality, snuggly polyester fleece.

What was your inspiration?

I couldn't find any good quality cotton sweatshirt fleece, locally, so decided to use this fabric from my stash.

What are you most proud of?

The hoodie is so quick, and such a flattering shape, I will be making many, many more. For my daughters as well as myself.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Sign up for this course. It is well worth every penny.
If you'd like to read about my experience sewing this hoodie I invite you to my blog post, here:

I sure wish I could speak Spanish. I used a translator program so I know you are asking about the pattern. Yes, the patterns can be downloaded as long as you have signed up for the course. I will try to go put that info. into Spanish.

Thanks Sherri. I hope to get another one sewn this weekend. I think I'm going to live in these this fall. So snuggly and warm.

Great write up on your blog. I *love* the fleece choice. It makes me giggle. It reminds me of the crazy, obnoxious, ridiculous hats that I make each year the night before we have snow storms. If I have to shovel, then I'm going to have fun.

Awesome! I have to try this one. Thanks for posting all the different angles, it looks like it has a flattering shape. Now I just need to find some stretchy fleece.

Yes, it is very flattering. My 21 yo daughter was over the day I sewed it. She tried it on and now she wants one. I'll be making these for my 2 youngest daughters for Christmas.
