What are you most proud of? Adapting the pattern for a zipper. I had to take it out 3 times before I got it right. Hand basting was the trick to be able to use a zipper foot without bunching up the fabric, instead of a walking foot. I like the zipper, but it is a little stiff and makes the front hem tent out too much. If I do it again, I'd either try to find a zipper with a softer tape (anybody have a source?), or add an elastic band at the bottom to shape it. I also really love the extra roomy, soft and flowy hood on this pattern. It is very feminine, almost cloak-like. When worn down and folded back, it creates a lovely boat neck that is very flattering.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I made the mistake of going a size up in the hips (because I usually have to do that for woven projects). But this pattern already has a lot of flare, and I realized that knits are more forgiving for big hips than wovens. My hoodie tents out at the bottom more than I like, even after taking it in a bunch. Next time, I'll stick with the same size all the way to the hem, and maybe even eliminate some of the flare. If you are just starting this project, consider a quick mock up of the bodice in something inexpensive to see if you like the amount of flare.

this looks so good and makes me want to sew one with a zipper, too!

Awesome. Love the addition a zipper.
