Angela - Love your class! What fabric did you use for these red jeans?

I am interested in making work-sneaky jeans that don't look like jeans but feel like jeans in the fit and style - what search terms do I use when looking for fabric to use for your pattern(s)? I tried "stretch denim" at fabric.com but I only got typical jean appearance blue/indigo/grey/black. I could get away with patterned or solid material (I have some exquisite Billy Blues pants in khaki that work fantastically for sneaking jeans at work... no one knows!) :) Unless they take this class and read my note, of course. I'll deny it if asked though, "Noooo, these aren't jeans at ALL... jeans are BLUE, silly goose!" :)

lol- same I want to do, sneaky jeans. I found jeans materials, but having the same problem with stretch, but doesn't have polyester since it will not distress well.... Not sure I want to go without stretch. I'll have to pull out my jeans and see how many I have that don't have stretch

What if you bought a bit more fabric and then cut the pattern out on the bias. I wonder if it would work or there would be too much stretch in the garment?? Hmmmm.

Lycra and rayon look good and I found some on line at http://www.fabricmartfabrics.com. the also have med weight denim with 2% Lycra which is low stretch

Thanks for the tips here. I too wear jean type pants all the time and want to look for other interesting fabrics. I will try the link abov. Great job on the red ones.
