Instructions
The Flared Lace Smoke Ring is designed with stunning knitted lace of ribs that radiate like a fan. The knitted tube is shaped in pattern so that the bottom is slightly flared. This makes a versatile accessory that can be worn pulled down around the neck to lay on the shoulders as a dressy neckline, or pulled up over the head as an elegant head covering.Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
I love all the Germanic twisted stitch designs, but unless they are done in the round, the twisted stitches on the purl return row of flat knitting can be tedious. This totally in-the-round project is perfect for not only trying out a lovely twisted stitch design that combines with lace.
What are you most proud of?
This pattern design, which I published in 1998, still remains at the top of my best sellers. It is a tribute to the test of time in which a classic design you knit will be timeless.
