What was your inspiration?
This pattern is available on Craftsy.com!
I have been trying to come up with a design for a 1920s-style hat for quite awhile, and I finally created one (and the pattern) that I love! I love the hats of the flapper era (and actually have a bunch of Needlecraft magazines from the 1920s that have picture ads and sewing patterns making me love the style even more). A friend has also asked me for a cute hat for someone undergoing chemotherapy, and I'm hoping this will be perfect. It is quite warm however, which will make it best for wearing during very cold months.
What are you most proud of?
I am just loving the pattern; it has become my favorite!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is a beginner's project for someone who can do the stockinette and garter stitches. The knitting-in-the-round is really easier than knitting on straight needles, and there are no unsightly seams to sew up at the end either. Remember to use your yarn double-stranded (except where it says not to do so). I believe the double-stranded yarn really helps it retain its shape.
