HeartStrings #A146 Flames of Fall »

Instructions

Beads and flames of lace endue a soft glow of warmth in this pleasingly reversible stole.

The sparkle of beads highlight boldly patterned sculptured flame motifs surrounded by a textured border reminiscent of embers.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Traditional, Classic

Materials

Crystal Palace Sausalito, color #8451 Harvest, a fingering weight yarn with long color runs. Miyuki size 6/0 (4 mm diameter) beads color #273 Light Yellow Lined Crystal AB 430.

What was your inspiration?

The name for Flames of Fall Stole was inspired by the pretty Fall colors in the new Crystal Palace yarn color for Fall 2012 that they call Harvest.

What are you most proud of?

The stole is knitted in two pieces, then joined at the middle by an easy method that does not require grafting. The resulting seam is nearly invisible to all but the most discerning eye.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

For you Hunger Games fans, I'd love to see you pick color(s) that step you into the character of the "Girl on Fire".

Jackie this is just lovely, and OMG I love the beads. Of course, I have a thing for beads.

Thank you. :) I love beads, too. (obviously! since so much of what I design has beads; and there's even more in the works)
