Fitted Hoodie Circular Vest »

Instructions

This is an advanced pattern as alterations in decreases may be needed to maintain a tailored but not tight fit. Try this vest on frequently to varify fit.

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Mod, Funky, Casual, Military

Materials

Acrylic yarn, metalic yarn, mohair yarn, buttons, zipper, hook and eye

What was your inspiration?

I wanted a circular vest but I don't look good in the ones that I have seen. Love the concept though, so I made one that is fitted to flatter a feminine figure.

What are you most proud of?

This was a tough pattern to write although surprisingly easy to work out.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make sure you try it on frequently as there is no way to write for every body type and you may need to adjust the fit through the decreases to get a nice fit.

Of course I am an absolute beginner or I wouldn't have to ask this question - but does it have to be 'round'? Also if I tried to make this beautiful hoodie with just one colour it would be less obvious, the circles that is? Many thanks for your time and by the way your hoody is gorgeous :)

Thank you for your question Margy! It does need to be "round" but if you did it in a single color it would still be very nice. It would also be quicker to do. The only thing that makes this hoodie difficult is the fitting. It's not really round as decreases are made to make it fitted. It really ends up more of an oval. The stitches themselves are very simple. I just can't stress enough, try it on often amd make sure it lies flat as you go.

Thank you so much for your time. As it will be my first 'real' crochet project it probably won't go quite as well as I would like, but it will teach me lots. I will certainly try it on lots and will let you know how it goes. Once again thank you for making this beautiful garment and then making it possible for me to make it as well , well try to :)
